Configuring for GPS Data
Once you have connected your GPS, you will need to set up your GPS Port Speed
(baud rate) for the COM port connected to the GPS. To configure your GPS COM
Port:
Start Jeppesen Workboat Navigator.
Open System Menu | Tools/Settings | Options | Ports: Configure.
In the Input Ports column, place a check-mark next to the COM Port connected
to your GPS.
With the GPS COM Port highlighted, click Configure This Input Port...
Set the Port Speed (baud rate) to match the baud rate of your GPS device.
(Typically 4800).
Click OK.
Click OK again to close the Options window.
Configuring for Heading Sensor Data
A Heading Sensor can improve the stability of charts with radar overlay and
calculation of target-tracking data.
NOTE:
Heading Sensors and the IR2-BB can be installed and configured
together.
Connect your Heading Sensor to an available serial port on your computer.
Start Jeppesen Workboat Navigator.
Open System Menu | Tools/Settings | Options | Ports: Configure.
In the Input Ports column, place a check-mark next to the COM Port your
Heading Sensor is connected to.
Click on the Heading Sensor COM Port, and then click Configure This Input
Port...
Set the Port Speed (baud rate) to match the baud rate of your Heading Sensor.
Some Heading Sensor model’s baud rate may vary, but 4800 is the standard.
Click OK.
Click OK again to close the Options window.
